Bob Dylan of India famed Lou Majaw turned 75 on April 7 and his birth was celebrated in a grand way at Royal Global University (RGU) in Guwahati.

It was a wonderful evening named – The Platinum Gong – a celebration of music. The evening witnessed a mega concert with prominent talents performing during the event.

Uday Benegal, the founder of Rock Machine presently Indus Creed alongside Zubeen Garg belted out their original songs.

The concert also included performances by Suman Dutta, David Baker, Mrinmoyee Goswami Sharma, Rittique Phukan, Joshua Queah, and an operatic rendition by Gyaan Bhuyan (T’mok) which was designed by Sattyakee D’com Bhuyan.

The gathering hailed the contribution of Lou Majaw to the music of the country. A book ‘Lou Majaw @75′ was released by the executive vice president of the Royal Global University Ankur Pansari in the presence of Majaw himself and curator and faculty Sattyakee D’com Bhuyan.

All the performers together sang Dylan’s ‘Forever Young’ for the legend. The musicians – Noboni was on cajon, Shephard and Rajib were on lead guitars, Albert was on a pounding bass guitar and Sam Shullai was on drums. Majaw’s son Christopher Dylan Majaw also performed during the event.

The programme was conducted by Lou Majaw Foundation and Royal Global University.
