Assam Police sub-inspector Junmoni Rabha, who was arrested and jailed for suspected corruption with her ex-fiancée, was suspended on June 5.
Leena Doley, Nagaon district police superintendent, said Junmoni Rabha was suspended after her arrest by Majuli district police on June 5.
Sub-inspector Rabha was arrested on June 4 following two days of questioning. A Majuli court ordered her to 14 days’ jail.
The suspended cop gained prominence for arresting her fiancée Rana Pogag for fraud last month.
Rabha accused Pogag of duping individuals by offering them ONGC employment and contracts. He is presently in Majuli prison on cheating accusations.
Later, Rabha was accused of working with Pogag to steal money. Two contractors claimed to police that Rabha introduced her ex-boyfriend to them in Majuli.
