A total of 2,29,131 candidates passed the class 10 – High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) Examination 2022 – in Assam, the results of which were declared on June 7.

As many as 56.49% students cleared the HSLC 2022 examination, Board of Secondary Education, Assam (SEBA), announced on June 7.

SEBA announced that 58.80% of the total male candidates and 54.49% of total female candidates cleared the examination.

The board also said that 65176 candidates secured first division marks while 99845 candidates got second division marks. Other 64101 cleared the examination securing third division marks.

The passing percentage showed a big drop since last year when 93.10% students cleared the examination. Notably, the examination process was affected last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Raktotpal Saikia of St. Mary’s High School in North Lakhimpur was declared the topper of HSLC 2022 examination. He secured 597 total marks.

The second position was taken by Bhuyashi Medhi from Little Flowers School, Nalbari who secured 596 total marks.

Scoring 595 total marks, Mridupawan Kalita of Don Bosco High School, Kheroni in West Karbi Anglong district; Labeeb Muzib of Don Bosco HS School, Boiragimath in Dibrugarh and Partha Pratim Das of Lohit Dikrong HS School, Bihpuria in Lakhimpur secured the joint third position.

As many as 2153 candidates scored full 100 marks in advance mathematics, 2513 in general mathematics, 306 in general science, 395 in social science, 83 in computer science, 290 in English and 39 in Assamese.
