Prime minister Narendra Modi hosts a delegation of women students from Nagaland

Prime minister Narendra Modi on June 9 hosted a delegation of women students from Nagaland at his residence in Lok Kalyan Marg. The delegation is visiting Delhi as part of ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’ initiative.

The students expressed their happiness on meeting the prime minister. In a freewheeling interaction, they discussed and sought views of the prime minister on a host of topics like, his vision for Northeast, his experiences in Nagaland, importance of Yoga etc.

During the interaction, prime minister enquired the students about their experience of visiting and exploring various tourist places in Delhi. He also advised them to visit PM Sangrahalaya and the National War Memorial during their stay in Delhi.

The meeting of the delegation with the prime minister was organised by the National Commission for Women.

Speaking to news agency ANI, NCW chief Rekha Sharma said the prime minister answered the queries of the students.

“It was a wonderful conversation and the prime minister answered all the queries that the students had and also shared his own perspective on the queries,” she said.

A report said that, on being asked what he likes about Nagaland, PM Modi said that he was really impressed with the cultural tradition of “Gaon Bura”.

Gaon Buras are the village headman. They are the eyes, nose, and ear of the district administration at the village level.
