Shiv Sena MLA Eknath Shinde and others

The rebel Shiv Sena MLAs who have been camping in Guwahati for the last eight days have decided to contribute to Assam chief minister’s relief fund to help the flood-affected people.

“Shiv Sena MLAs & allies have decided to contribute Rs 51 lakhs to the Assam CM’s relief fund to help the flood-affected people,” tweeted Shiv Sena MLA Eknath Shinde on June 29.

For the last few days, rebel leader Shinde along with other MLAs are camping at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Guwahati.

On June 28, Maharashtra governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari directed the ruling Maha Vikas Aghadi government of Shiv Sena-Nationalist Congress Party-Congress to take a floor test and prove its house majority on June 30.

Eknath Shinde said that they would return to Mumbai and take part in the trust vote and all other proceedings that would follow.

The Shinde faction is confident of its majority and said they would decide their further strategy after the floor test.

As per available details, the rebel group will leave Guwahati on June 29 afternoon.

The MLAs also gave a visit to the famed Kamakhya temple on June 29.
