Adil Hussain speaks during the occasion | NSD

Internationally acclaimed actor Adil Hussain who recently attended the culmination ceremony of TIE summer workshop of children in New Delhi said that theatre is the best medium for children to understand themselves and society.

TIE or Theatre-in-Education is the second performing wing of the National School of Drama (NSD).

Adil Hussain, an alumnus of NSD said: “All children should go through this process to become better leaders in their profession.”

“It was a great opportunity for me to watch young ones perform, improvise and create amazing moments inspired by their personal lives. Theatre is one of the best mediums, if not the best medium to recognise one’s own strengths, understand emotional intelligence and more,” the ‘Life of Pie’ actor said further.

Theatre-in-Education was established in October 16, 1989, with the objective of promoting theatre amongst children in the age group of 8 to 16 years. Later renamed Sanskaar Rang Toli.

It has completed more than 600 performances across the country. Theatre In Education company is one of the important educational resource centres in the country. TIE company consists of a group of actor-teachers working with and performing for children.

Meanwhile, national award-winning actor Adil Hussain‘s new Bengali film ‘Abyakto’ was released on the OTT platform Eros Now on June 29.

‘Abyakto’ is a touching tale of a mother and son, their strained relationship, and how an unexpected turn of events changes things forever.

The film is produced by Ankit Das and Suresh Tolani and directed by Arjunn Dutta.

Talking about the film Dutta said, “‘Abyakto’ is a story of a mother and son and raises pertinent issues that are never spoken about in our society. Our entire team has made an honest film with a lot of passion, and I am sure it is going to touch hearts.”

The film also features Arpita Chatterjee, Anubhav Kanjilal, Anirban Ghosh, and Lily Chakravarty alongside Hussain.
