35 new COVID-19 cases in Meghalaya

The daily COVID-19 case count has been gradually rising since over more than a month now in Meghalaya with 35 new cases of infections reported on July 16.

Health officials in Meghalaya said that the number of active cases in the state stands at 182.

The state has so far registered 94,267 confirmed cases, including 1595 cases of fatality and 92,490 cases of recovery, including 11 that were recorded on July 16.

The number of active COVID-19 cases increased to 63 in the East Khasi Hills, which includes state capital Shillong with the district accounting for seven new cases of infection besides four cases of recovery from the viral disease on July 16, as per official statistics.

Health officials said 15 COVID-19 infected patients are undergoing treatment in various hospitals in the state.

Two out of the total 12 districts had no active COVID-19 case as on date.

On the other hand, 32,139 healthcare workers have received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, 29,511 have been administered with the second dose and 10,064 have taken the third precaution dose.

As many as 13,02,369 persons from among the general public have been inoculated with the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine, 9,50,420 have been fully vaccinated with the second dose and 10,509 citizens have taken the booster dose across the state till July 16.
