Amlan Borgohain of Assam has broken yet another national record in the field and track event. Amlan set up a new national record in men’s 100m with a timing of 10.25 sec at the Inter-railway athletics championships in Rae Bareli, Uttar Pradesh on August 29.
Now, the 24-year-old athlete is the country’s fastest in both 100m and 200m.
Earlier this year at the Federation Cup, he had clocked 20.52s to set a new national record in the men’s 200 metres.

Coincidently, he broke the record on the national sports day.
The previous 100-metre record was held by Amiya Kumar Malick with a time of 10.26. Amlan’s performance on August 29 was a big improvement on his previous best time of 10.34 seconds.
The Athletics Federation of India will begin the process of ratifying the record once all the paper work, including photo finish details, are collected from the organisers.
