An earthquake of magnitude 4.0 on the Richter scale struck 50 km east of Champhai in Mizoram, according to the National Centre for Seismology on September 7.
The earthquake occurred at 12.55 am on September 7. The depth of the earthquake was recorded to be 13 km.

No loss of life or property was reported.
The tremor was also felt in parts of Tripura and Manipur, reports said.
