One COVID-19 death, five new cases in Meghalaya

Meghalaya on September 18 reported one COVID-19-related death in the Ri-Bhoi district, which increased the number of overall fatalities due to the viral disease to 1622.

The state health authorities also detected five new cases of COVID-19 infection, health officials said.

The number of active cases declined to 46 with seven more cases of recovery from the viral disease recorded during the day, which surged the number of recovered cases to 94,945 in the state, which has so far registered 96,613 confirmed cases, as per the medical bulletin released on September 18.

“Currently, eight COVID-19 infected patients are undergoing treatment in various hospitals in the state,” a health official said.
