As the runs galore on Monday in Vijay Hazare Trophy, Team Tamil Nadu became the first team to score 500 plus runs.
Many records tumbled in Vijay Hazare Trophy as Tamil Nadu moved ahead to smash 506/2 in 50 overs of the play. Tamil Nadu batter Narayan Jagadeesan put up his best performance against Arunachal Pradesh as he played a knock of 277 runs which was decorated by 25 fours and 15 sixes.
Before this spectacular performance by the Tamil Nadu team, this record was previously held by England who had smashed 498 runs in an ODI against the Netherlands.
During the match, Jagadeesan went on to become the batter to have scored the highest individual runs in List A cricket. Jagadeesan surpassed Surrey batter Alistair Brown who scored 268 runs against Glamorgan in 2002.

Jagadeesan and Sai Sudarshan also became the first pair to share 400 plus runs partnership in List-A cricket. The duo stitched up an opening stand of 416 runs in just 38.3 overs.
Tamil Nadu batter Jagadeesan surpassed Sri Lankan legend Kumar Sangakkara to register the most number of consecutive centuries in the history of List A cricket. The batter accomplished this landmark during his side’s match against Arunachal Pradesh at the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy, India’s top-class 50-over domestic cricket competition.
In the match, he brought up his fifth-consecutive hundred in the tournament. He also has the most number of consecutive tons in a single season of the Vijay Hazare Trophy, having outdone players like Virat Kohli, Prithvi Shaw, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Devdutt Padikkal, who have scored four centuries each.
Jagadeesan is also the leading run-scorer in the tournament so far, having scored 624 runs in six matches at an average of 156.00 and is still going.
With this, he has left behind Kumar Sangakara, who had scored four consecutive centuries in the 2015 Cricket World Cup. He registered 105* against Bangladesh, 117* against England, 104 against Australia and 124 against Scotland to finish with 541 runs in the tournament at an average of 108.20. He finished as second highest run-getter in the tournament. (ANI)
