Mamata Banerjee to visit Meghalaya on January 18

Chairperson of the All India Trinamool Congress, Mamata Banerjee, is slated to visit Meghalaya on January 18.

According to local TMC office bearers, Banerjee will address a public meeting in North Garo Hills district of Meghalaya.

This will be her second visit to the state.

Mamata Banerjee will be accompanied by the party’s national general secretary Abhishek Banerjee.

AITC MP and parliamentary party leader in Rajya Sabha, Derek O’Brien, Meghalaya in-charge Manas R Bhunia, state president Charles Pyngrope and leader of opposition Mukul Sangma will also be in attendance at the public event, said a statement issued on January 15.

In December 2022, Mamata had visited Shillong and launched the Meghalaya TMC’s financial assistance scheme for women “We Card” – which has garnered over 3.14 lakh registration so far.
