Snowfall at Mayodia in Arunachal Pradesh

Mayodia, a small “hill station” located in the state of Arunachal Pradesh, is experiencing snowfall since late December.

According to local reports, the snow began to fall in the last week of December, covering the ground and the surrounding mountains in a blanket of white. Tourists and locals alike were delighted by the sight, and many took to social media to share photos and videos of the snow-covered landscape.

The snowfall is expected to boost tourism in Mayodia, which is known for its natural beauty and serene atmosphere.

The local authorities have issued a warning to tourists and residents to be cautious while traveling on the roads, as the snow may make them slippery and dangerous. They have also advised people to dress warmly and stay indoors, if possible, to avoid the freezing temperatures.

The weather department has forecasted more snowfall in the coming days. Lower Dibang Valley district administration has also issued a notice advising tourists from Assam and other states of the country not to visit Myodia Pass in view of heavy snowfall.

Mayodia is a popular tourist destination, known for its natural beauty. It is situated at an altitude of 2,652 meters above sea level in the Lower Dibang Valley district and is surrounded by dense forests and snow-capped mountains. The place is located around 56 km from district headquarters Roing.

The best time to visit Mayodia is between October and December, when the weather is pleasant and the skies are clear.

Mayodia is well connected to the rest of India by road and air. The nearest airport is located in Dibrugarh, which is about 200-kilometer away, and there are regular bus services till Roing from major cities such as Guwahati and Itanagar.
