Sikkim chief minister PS Tamang has written to prime minister Narendra Modi requesting the resumption of SpiceJet flights to Pakyong Greenfield airport in the state.

The flights to and fro were suspended from October 30, 2022, on account of operational issues.

As Sikkim is preparing for G20 summit scheduled for March 16 and 18, the chief minister has made the request to the prime minister out of his concern about the air connectivity.

Tamang has also written to the Union ministry of civil aviation and DGCA. According to him, the flights will be restarted possibly, from May, or even earlier.
