Guwahati-based Sri Sankaradeva Nethralaya, a centre of excellence in eyecare, organized a day-long conference of pediatric ophthalmologists on January 28.
Sri Sankaradeva Nethralaya has been offering its services to various ocular diseases of the pediatric population of Assam and Northeast India since long. The institute has made academic contributions in the field of research, innovations and clinical diagnostics both nationally and internationally.
Aligning with its aim, the conference of pediatric ophthalmologists was organized, which was one of the first such initiative in the region, said a statement from the institution.
SSDN president & trustee, Dr Harsha Bhattacharjee delivered his welcome address.
A number of senior and renowned pediatric ophthalmologists from all over the country participated in the programme and shared their experiences and presentations on topics related to pediatric ophthalmology.
A total of six insightful sessions were held during the conference.
Organizing secretaries Dr Damaris Magdalene (sr consultant) and Dr Nilutparna Deori (consultant) delivered the vote of thanks.
“With this conclave, the premier eye hospital aims to spread awareness on pediatric ophthalmology and wishes to move forward with more of clinical observation and collaborative science in the field of pediatric ophthalmology,” the statement further added.
