Five friends died near Balipara in Assam’s Sonitpur district when the vehicle they were travelling in lost control and crashed into a roadside ditch, police said on February 24.
The accident occurred in the wee hours on February 24, when the youths were reportedly on their way to Tezpur, according to police sources.
“The bodies of the deceased have been sent for post-mortem,” the police officer said.
Reports said that they were residents of Tezpur and were returning from a wedding ceremony when the accident happened.
