Laxman Acharya sworn in as 17th governor of Sikkim

Laxman Acharya was sworn in as the 17th governor of Sikkim on February 16.

Chief justice of Sikkim high court Biswanath Sommader administered the oath of office to Acharya at the Raj Bhavan in Gangtok after the warrant of appointment was read out by the chief secretary Vijay Bhushan Pathak.

The new governor later inspected a guard of honour at the lawns of the Sikkim Raj Bhavan.

Chief minister PS Tamang, assembly deputy speaker S Lepcha, ministers, MLAs and judges attended the swearing-in ceremony of Laxman Acharya.
