Only one candidate has filed nomination for the Nagaland legislative assembly election till February 3.

Hayithung Tungoe Lotha filed nomination on February 3 as an Independent candidate from Tyui assembly constituency under Wokha district.

Since the announcement of election to the 14th Nagaland legislative assembly, Hayithung Tungoe Lotha is the first candidate to file nomination. February 3 was the fourth nomination filing day which has been open since January 31.

The last date for filing nomination is February 7.

The scrutiny of nomination papers will be done on February 8 and the last date for withdrawal of nomination is February 10.

Nagaland will go to poll on February 27 for the 60 assembly constituencies of the state. The counting of votes will be done on March 2.
