“The Modi regime has killed democracy in the country”, said Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) president, K Meghachandra as the Congress party in Manipur joined the nationwide protest against Rahul Gandhi‘s disqualification from Lok Sabha on March 26.

Truth has no relevance and those who do wrongs are awarded under the present regime, said K Meghachandra.

Addressing the one day protest in front of the statue of Mahatma Gandhi, Meghachandra said people who speak the truth, voiced the truth of loot of public money have been punished.

Democracy has become meaningless under the BJP rule and all opposition members have been harassed by the Narendra Modi government, he added.

People can longer endure the treatment meted out to the people and to register a protest over the prevalent condition and action against Rahul Gandhi the protest was carried out he said.

Rahul Gandhi spoke only about Nirav, Lalit and Narendra Modi, not against the Modi community he said.

Meghachandra gave a detailed account of the alleged fraud done by Nirav and Lalit.

“Our leader Rahul Gandhi had only questioned the criminal attitude of Lalit Modi, Nirav Modi and Narendra Modi during a political meeting in Karnataka”, he claimed.

The MPCC president alleged that the Modi government was encouraging wrong doers by conferring awards while imprisoning those who stood for the truth.

He also said that the Modi government had not only suppressed the voices of the Congress leaders but other opposition parties.

“The clear example was deletion of the record of the questions raised by Rahul Gandhi during a Parliament session demanding reasons for providing a huge amount of loan to Adani group from the parliamentary proceedings,” he also said.

“MPCC stands in solidarity with Rahul Gandhi ji. Congress will continue its agitation in all districts and block levels to save democracy in the country,” the MPCC president added.
