A total of Rs 349 crore has been sanctioned as of the end of February for the implementation of the smart city project in Shillong, the Meghalaya assembly was told on March 28.

It consists of the Government of India grant of Rs 294 crore and a state matching share of Rs 55 crore, deputy chief minister in-charge urban affairs, Sniawbhalang Dhar said in his reply to an unstarred question tabled in the Meghalaya assembly on March 28.

He informed that an amount of Rs 280.98 crore has been spent, as of the end of February 2023.

A total of 18 projects are being undertaken under the Shillong Smart City.
