The civil servants of Arunachal Pradesh under the banner of Arunachal Pradesh Civil Service Officers Association have, on National Civil Services Day, decided to go on a four-day mass casual leave next week in protest against non-fulfilment of their various demands by the state government, a senior official said on April 21.
“The Arunachal Pradesh Civil Service Officers Association (APCSOA) has announced four days’ mass casual leave from April 25 (Tuesday) to 28 (Friday),” APCSOA general secretary Nangram Pingkap said, adding that the decision to this effect was taken by the central executive committee of the association in an emergency meeting convened in Itanagar on April 21.
All the APCS cadre officers posted within and outside the state of Arunachal Pradesh shall be proceeding on casual leave during this period in protest against the non-fulfilment of the various demands of APCSOA, as well as undermining the interests of the APCS cadre by the state government. He said the same (information) had been intimated to the Arunachal Pradesh chief secretary’s office.
“The undermining of the interests of the state civil service cadre is uncalled for and unacceptable,” remarked the APCSOA, adding that several representations have been submitted to competent authorities from time to time regarding the various issues of the APCS cadre.
APCSOA had earlier this month agreed to defer the proposed two-day mass casual leave (April 10-11) following a ‘fruitful’ meeting chaired by home minister cum state government spokesperson Bamang Felix on April 7.
APCSOA has been insisting on the posting of Urban Local Bodies (ULB) director, revocation of abeyance order in respect of posting of APCS officer as IT director, a timely convening of DPC and timely induction into IAS, and review of guidelines pertaining to transfer and posting of APCS officers, among others.
