Arunachal Pradesh chief minister Pema Khandu took to Twitter to extend his warm greetings to the Nyishi community on the occasion of Nyishi Day. The day is celebrated to mark the historic constitutional amendment recognizing Nyishi as the official nomenclature for the community.

In his tweet, the chief minister praised the community for its rich folklore, culture, and tradition, and wished for their continued prosperity. He also highlighted the significance of the day, which marks an important milestone in the community’s history.

The Nyishi community is one of the largest ethnic groups in Arunachal Pradesh and is primarily concentrated in the districts of Papum Pare, East Kameng, and Kurung Kumey. The community celebrates Nyishi Day on April 19 every year to commemorate the official recognition of their nomenclature.

Pema Khandu’s message on Twitter is expected to boost the morale of the Nyishi community and reinforce the government’s commitment to promoting and preserving the state’s diverse cultural heritage.
