Major drug haul in Arunachal’s Vijaynagar

In a major drug haul, police in Changlang district of Arunachal Pradesh apprehended four drug peddlers with the help of the villagers.

Among the detainees included a Myanmar national. Police recovered contraband drugs, live ammunitions and some cash from their possession.

“In continuous fight against drug menace, the Vijaynagar Police and magistrate with help of Mahila group and youth of Hozulo apprehended four drug peddlers and addicts, including one Myanmar national, from general area of Hozulo village in remote Vijaynagar circle and recovered contraband drugs and live ammunitions from their possession on May 27 (Saturday),” the Changlang district police said on May 29.

The apprehended individuals have been identified as Dubye Yobin (40), a resident of 64 Miles; Joyoha Yobin (38) of Gandhigram, Aman Thapa (30) of Ramnagar village, and the Myanmar national, Yongzi Nangseng (35).

The recoveries included: Morphine – 81.23 gram (approx), five rounds of .22 live ammunition, Indian Rs 31,000, and syringe – 15 nos, police said.
