24 new COVID-19 cases in Tripura, tally reaches 88

Tripura on May 7 reported 24 COVID-19 positive cases from the Border Security Force (BSF) headquarters in Ambassa.

Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb informed that 24 persons from 86th Battalion of BSF in Ambassa were tested COVID-19 positive on May 7.

With this, the total number of active cases in the state stood at 86 with two others recovering from the disease.

Taking to Twitter the chief minister further informed that in the last five days the number of positive cases jumped from zero to 86 and they all belonged to the two battalions of BSF – 138th and 86th – taking the total number of infected to 88 in the state.

Deb mentioned that among the positive cases, there were no civilians. He mentioned the people to stay safe.
