As many as 64 defence personnel based at Missamari military station in Tezpur have tested positive for COVID-19 in the last 10 days.

Sonitpur deputy commissioner Manavendra Pratap Singh confirmed that 64 personnel at Missamari military station have been detected as COVID-19 positive.

Among them, 49 are Army personnel, 12 SSB men, two ITBP and one BRO personnel.

All of them were in quarantine in the military station after arrival from different locations.

The infected personnel are currently undergoing treatment at 155 Base Hospital at Tezpur, and 180 Military Hospital at Missamari.

Defence personnel entering the state are quarantined in their own installations and treated at their own hospitals, wherever available.
