Arunachal Pradesh on July 21 reported 68 new COVID-19 cases taking the total tally in the state to 858. The state now has 552 active cases.

Among the new cases, 57 were detected from Itanagar Capital Complex while a solitary case was reported from Chiputa in Papum Pare district.

The capital area has seen the maximum number of cases in the state. On July 21, 347 cases were still active in Itanagar Capital Complex while 23 patients were undergoing treatment in Papum Pare district.

A health department bulletin on July 21 informed that among the 68 new cases, three were detected from Namsai, six from Lower Subansiri and one from Lower Dibang Valley districts.

The three cases in Namsai district were detected among returnees who were in quarantine facilities. Among the six cases from Lower Subansiri, two were returnees and the other four were detected from outside quarantine facilities. The solitary patient from Lower Dibang Valley district is a driver of essential commodities vehicle.

On July 21, 16 patients recovered from the disease and were released in Itanagar Capital Complex while two others were released in Lower Dibang Valley district.

The total number of recovered patients in the state now stands at 303 with 147 of them recovering from the disease in Itanagar Capital Complex and 82 in Changlang district.

The state reported death of three patients due to COVID-19 related complications till date.
