All India Congress Committee (AICC) has appointed senior advocate and veteran Congress leader Pijush Kanti Biswas as acting president of Tripura Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) on December 17 night.
AICC general secretary KC Venugopal in a letter informed that AICC president has appointed Biswas to act as president of the party in the state with immediate effect until a full-time president is appointed.
He was earlier made convener of the Adhoc committee of Congress after scion of the erstwhile royal family of Tripura Pradyot Manikya Debbarma left the party soon after the Lok Sabha elections.
