Arunachal Pradesh chief minister Pema Khandu on January 3 appealed to all parents to have their children vaccinated as the frontier state joined the nationwide COVID-19 vaccination drive for youngsters aged 15 to 18 years.
According to official sources, CM Khandu also recommended them to schedule their vaccine jab appointments online or by coming into their nearest vaccination centre.
Taking to Twitter, Khandu wrote: “Nationwide COVID-19 vaccination of children between 15 and 18 years has begun. I urge all parents to get their children vaccinated. Get your appointment online or may walk-in at your nearest vaccination centre. #IndiaFightsCOVID19”.
The chief minister added that on the first day of COVID-19 vaccination for the 15-18 years age group, Covaxin vaccine was administered to 1785 children in 103 sessions sites.

Meanwhile, health & family welfare minister Alo Libang, who is currently camping in his home constituency, launched the COVID-19 vaccination for the 15-18-year-olds at the District Hospital in Yingkiong, Upper Siang in the presence of local leaders and health officials.
