Arunachal Pradesh Police on November 19 claimed to have recovered the weapon which was used to murder Techi Meena Lishi, who was seven months pregnant, on November 5.

“We have recovered crucial evidence yesterday in connection with the Techi Meena Lishi murder case. The murder weapon which we earlier said its allegedly a hammer, was recovered from the Dikrong river following extensive search of three days with the help of local divers,” Capital Complex SP Jimmy Chiram told reporters on November 19.

He also informed that a team of police which has been sent to Khonsa for collecting connecting evidence in connection with the said case, recovered clothes of one of the accused who carried out the assault.

“Investigation is in progress. We have not closed any part of the investigation. Every angle is being looked into. If any further evidence is found during the investigation, we will take necessary action. We will not leave any lacunae,” Chiram said.

Five accused, including Roni Lishi, husband of Techi Meena Lishi have been arrested in connection with the gruesome murder.

In Capital Complex, a massive candlelight rally was held on November 19 evening demanding justice for Techi Meena Leshi. The rally began from Yupia tri-junction and culminated at her residence at A-sector, Naharlagun.
