Itanagar-based English daily, The Arunachal Times, will be shut for at least three days as four of its employees tested positive for COVID-19 on September 12.

Announcing the closure of its office for a week – with publishing stopped for the next three days – the English daily informed that four members of the team tested COVID-19 positive. “We request all those who visited our front office to get themselves tested,” a tweet from the daily said on September 12.

“The office of The Arunachal Times will be closed for a week, starting tomorrow. We will not be printing for the next three days in order to sanitize the office. However, you can get in touch with us via [email protected],” another tweet read.

Meanwhile, Neni Hyundai showroom/workshop at Lekhi was declared a containment zone for 14 days on September 12 after 45 persons were tested positive for COVID-19.

Arunachal Pradesh has been witnessing a rapid increase in COVID-19 cases with 151 new detections in the last 24 hours according to a state health bulletin on September 12.

With 416 patients, Itanagar Capital Complex accounts for the highest number of active cases in the state.

The total number of COVID-19 cases in the state climbed to 5975 on September 12 while 1698 of them are active cases.

As many as 128 recovered from the disease and were released from the COVID care centres on September 12, taking the total number of recovered persons to 4253.

The state has recorded 10 deaths till now due to COVID-19 related complications.
