Arunachal Pradesh will get 7 new Kendriya Vidyalayas at Kurung Kumey, Dibang Valley, Namsai, Upper Subansiri, Anjaw, West Siang and Upper Siang districts.

Chief minister Pema Khandu on Thursday informed that the government has sanctioned the seven KVs during his visit to inspect the under-construction VKV at Ramsing village in Yingkiong, Upper Siang district.

Addressing a gathering, Khandu thanked the villagers for donating land for the school and commended the quality work being carried out for the school, which is being constructed with a fund of Rs 3 crore.

Acknowledging that the school needs infrastructure including the staff quarters, boundary wall, science lab, auditorium, etc., Pema promised to sanction an additional fund of Rs 8 crore within the current fiscal.

The chief minister urged the executing department to carry out the work “on a war footing, so that the new school building is ready within this year and classes for the next academic session begin from the new building.”

At present the school is being run from a temporary site.
