The total number of COVID-19 positive cases in Assam has increased to 1877 with the detection of 47 new cases on June 4 till the filing of this report.

Assam Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma informed that among the new cases, 33 are from Hojai, six from Dhemaji and four from Bongaigaon.

On June 4, 29 patients were released from the hospitals in Assam after they recovered from the disease.

The number of active cases in the state now stands at 1428, while 442 have recovered so far and four others have died.

The state had recorded the highest single day spike in new cases on June 3 when 269 new patients were detected with COVID-19.
