Adding to the bouquet of initiatives taken by the Assam government to propagate the philosophy and teachings of Srimanta Sankardev, especially at the national and international forum, Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal announced a cash incentive of Rs 50 lakh to Srimanta Sankardev Sanskritik Samaj at Bengaluru to set up a Namghar in the capital city of Karnataka.

The cash assistance has been doled out keeping in view the cultural and spiritual need of the people living in Bengaluru and spread the teachings of the Gurujona in Karnataka.

Earlier, the Assam government announced the setting up of Namghar in New Delhi along with other places in the country and asked resident commissioner, Assam Bhavan, New Delhi to look for a suitable land for the purpose.
