Governor of Assam, PB Acharya on Thursday felicitated the top 10 position holders of this year’s HSLC examination at a function held at the Durbar Hall of the Raj Bhawan. The governor, while addressing the function, said that the mantra of the day should be “achievers should be givers”.
Acharya said that the students reminded him of the day he passed out his matriculation exams from a small village in Karnataka. He lauded the remarkable achievement of the rank holders and called the students to be empowered by education.
The students were felicitated with a traditional gamocha, an appreciation letter and a book. Principal/Head of the institutes of the rank holders were also felicitated with a gamocha and a certificate.
The top three rank holders were also given a chance to speak on the occasion.
A Raj Bhavan release noted that the top three position holders of Assam High Madrassa exam 2016 were also felicitated at the function.
