Assam industries and commerce department signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) on Monday in view of the upcoming Assam Global Investors Summit in early 2018.

The signing of the agreement means that the government will collaborate with FICCI for the business summit.

Commissioner of industries and commerce, Ashutosh Agnihotri and deputy secretary general of FICCI, Arun Chawla signed the MoA in presence of industries and commerce minister, Chandra Mohan Patowary in a ceremony at the Assam Industrial Development Corporation (AIDC) office in Guwahati.

The Assam government plans to organise an investors’ summit – Assam Global Investors Summit – ‘Advantage Assam’ for promoting investment in potential sectors in the state. The government also wishes to arrange alongside the ‘Pravasi Axomia Divas’ for fostering stronger diaspora engagement and create a link between the state government and Pravasi Assamese.
