Ambassador of Estonia to India Riho Kruuv met Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal in Guwahati on October 29 and discussed about several of issues of mutual interest.

During discussion, chief minister Sonowal sought cooperation from the Estonian ambassador in tackling cyber crime, which has surfaced as a major global threat. He also outlined the initiatives being taken up in Assam to maximize the business potential unleashed by India’s Act East Policy to transform Guwahati as the gateway to the South East Asia.

The chief minister also informed the ambassador about the potential sectors for investment in Assam and requested him to take a lead in brining investment from Estonia to the state.

The Estonian ambassador while taking part in discussion assured chief minister Sonowal all support to meet the challenges posed by cyber crime. He also informed about taking up adequate measures for developing strong relations in trade and commerce between Assam and the European country.

The Estonian ambassador was in Guwahati to attend the Guwahati International Film Festival.
