Assam model to represent India at Mr Model of the World pageant in Yangon
Guwahati’s Dipankar Talukdar has recently won the Mr India Model of the World 2018 title and will represent India at the world event in April.
Dipankar Talukdar won the Mr India title at the finale event held at Bengaluru in the first week of March. Talukdar will now represent India at the Mister Model of the World pageant to be held at Yangon, Myanmar from April 20-28, 2018.
“I am happy to let you all know that I will be participating at the Mister Model of the World pageant in Myanmar along with contestants from around 25 countries. I seek your love and blessings and hope that I will bring the title to India,” said Dipankar Talukdar, speaking at a media event at the Guwahati Press Club on Thursday.
Dipankar won the title in Bengaluru in the first week of March after coming on top among 30 finale participants. The pageant show was directed by Akshay Raichurkar, who also groomed the models besides himself being the director of several international beauty pageants.
Dipankar Talukdar, a mechanical engineer, has been in the modelling profession since some time. “I have seen Dipankar grow as a professional model. He has participated in various assignments. I congratulate him for becoming Mr India and wish him all the luck for the Mr World event in Myanmar,” said choreographer Uday Shankar, who was here at the press conference today to support Dipankar.
The Mister Model of the World pageant envisaged to be a foundation for handsome and smart men, who have the passion and commitment to show the beauty of the world, through fashion, culture, heritage and values, while promoting peace and their individual advocacies.
The areas of competition includes physique and form competition (photo shoot and ramp for swimwear), culture and heritage (national costume competition, traditional wear fashion show, auction shows, Myanmar designers night), tourism (visit the ancient cities of Myanmar etc.)
