Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal visited Dhekiajuli in Sonitpur district to take stock of preparations for the upcoming visit of PM Narendra Modi on February 7.

CM Sonowal reviewed all angles with various stakeholders and said that the historic town of Dhekiajuli is all set to welcome beloved PM Narendra Modi.

Speaking to media persons, the CM stated that PM Narendra Modi’s strong step towards overall development of Assam has strengthened the state and placed it on the success map of India and even enabled it to look towards the markets of South east Asia. The CM welcomed PM Narendra Modi to Dhekiajuli on behalf of the people of Assam.

The CM said: “34,000 km Highway construction in Assam, 300 crore for development of Maa Kamakhya Temple, 1,075 crore for protection of sacred Majuli, 1,000 crore for welfare of Tea Garden workers has proven the love of the PM for Assam and the Northeast. He is one of our own and most respected by the people. I took stock of preparations for the visit with senior leaders and grassroot workers.”

Chief Secretary Jishnu Baruah, DGP Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta, top officials, ministers and dignitaries accompanied the CM during the review.
