Assam reports 111 new COVID-19 cases; 158 today

Assam on June 4 evening reported 111 new cases of COVID-19 taking the total number of cases in the state to 1988.

Health and Family Welfare Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma informed that among the new cases, 46 were detected from Hojai, 28 from Udalguri, 11 from Kamrup, 10 from Nagaon, five from Morigaon, three each from Nalbari and Goalpara and two each from Golaghat and Jorhat districts. A case was also reported from Dhubri.

“Alert ~ 111 new cases of #COVID19+ 46 Hojai, 28 Udalguri, 11 Kamrup, 10 Nagaon, 5 Morigaon, 3 Nalbari, 3 Goalpara, 2 Golaghat, 2 Jorhat, 1 Dhubri,” the minister had tweeted.

Earlier in the day, 47 cases were reported from various parts of Assam. Till the filing of this report, 158 cases were reported from the state on June 4.

With the detection of the new cases, the total number of active cases in the state went up to 1539. As many as 442 patients were released from the hospitals in the state after they recovered from the disease. Assam reported 4 deaths due to COVID-19 related complications.
