Assam reports 14 deaths, 2236 fresh cases of COVID-19

Assam on April 24 reported 14 deaths due to COVID-19 related complications. The Northeast state during the past 24 hours detected 2,236 fresh cases of COVID-19.

With the detection of the fresh cases, the total number of active cases in the state climbed up to 14,198.

Three patients died due to the viral infection in Kamrup Metro district while Dibrugarh, Hojai, Kamrup and Jorhat districts reported two deaths each.

Among the fresh cases, the highest cases were detected in Kamrup Metro. As many as 815 fresh cases were detected from the district.

Nearby Kamrup district reported 196 fresh cases.

Assam till now has reported 2,35,689 cases of COVID-19 with 1,186 deaths related to the viral infection.

As many as 20,03,181 people took the vaccination in the state till April 24.
