‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ should be a ‘Jan Andolan’, says Arunachal governor

Arunachal Pradesh governor BD Mishra attended the second meeting of the national committee for celebration of 75th Anniversary of India’s Independence – Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav – through virtual mode from Raj Bhavan in Itanagar on December 22.

The meeting was chaired by prime minister Narendra Modi.

The governor, being a member of the national committee, suggested for active and enthusiastic participation of the people in ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’, while adding, that “it should be a ‘Jan Andolan’ and must inspire the younger generation to contribute towards the nation’s cause”, a communiqué from the Raj Bhavan said.

The governor further urged that ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ must highlight the unsung heroes of the state who took part in the country’s freedom struggle. He also emphasised on empowerment of women and promotion of culture, crafts and sports.

Mishra appealed to the people to imbibe the values and ethics of the Constitution of India as a tribute to the freedom fighters of the country.
