Boat rally on Brahmaputra to mark 75 years of India's Independence in Dhubri | DIPRO, Dhubri

As a part of ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’, Dhubri district administration organised a ‘Tiranga Boat Rally’ on river Brahmaputra in collaboration with Dhubri Police and BSF.

In line with the completion of 75 years of India’s independence, the boat rally marched from Dhubri Kachari Ghat to Chalakura Char with well-equipped 75 boats and returned to Kachari Ghat.

Dhubri deputy commissioner Anbamuthan MP took the initiative of the boat rally to aware thousands of people living in Dhubri’s Char area to celebrate the 75 years of India’s independence along with the celebration of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.

All the 75 machine boats were designed with national flags and balloons, which created a spectacular view and jaw-dropping atmosphere on the river Brahmaputra in Dhubri on the starting day of the Har Ghar Tiranga programme.

Har Ghar Tiranga campaign is a noble initiative of the union ministry of culture to celebrate the 75 years of India’s independence by hoisting more than 20 crore national flags all across the country from August 13 to 15.

The Assam government is also joining hands in the initiative. The state government has appealed to the people to join hands in hoisting or displaying more than 80 lakh national flags in homes, offices and commercial establishments from August 13 to 15.

The government of Assam has already adopted measures to make national flags available at Rs 18 at fair price shops all across the state.
