Bodies of man and his daughter fished out of river in Assam

Bodies of a man and his daughter, who were among three people missing since a car accident in Geluwa river in Dhemaji district of Assam on July 2, were recovered on July 3 by NDRF and other rescue agency personnel.

Reports from Dhemaji said the body of Tankeswar Kalita and his younger daughter Kaku were recovered, along with their car, from the river.

The driver of the vehicle is still missing and operations are on to trace his body.

The wife of Kalita and their elder daughter were rescued alive by local people following the accident on July 2.

The car had skidded and fell into the river on July 2 when the Kalita family was returning from a marriage.
