The 20-member team of Brahmaputra Aamantran Abhiyaan (BAA) rafting expedition on December 29 reached Pasighat in East Siang district of Arunachal Pradesh.

This marked the end of the Arunachal leg of the expedition, which will culminate in Assam on January 21, 2021.

On their arrival, they were accorded a warm welcome by the district administration.

Congratulating the team for their remarkable achievement, deputy commissioner Kinny Singh said that the rafting expedition was organized to promote concept of ‘living with the river’ for conservation and spreading environmental awareness and river rejuvenation and was the need of the hour.

Some of the rafters while sharing their experiences along the Arunachal route, said that the mighty Siang being a big volume river, with greenery all around and Class IV & V grades rapids, is the ideal destination for adventure seekers.

The expedition was being organised by the Brahmaputra Board under the Union Ministry of Water Resources with the support of Government of Arunachal Pradesh and the NDRF.
