2 brothers face allegations of human sacrifice in Assam

Two brothers from Demowmukh in Sivasagar district of Assam have come under suspicion for allegedly preparing for a human sacrifice ritual, with children, including a son of one of them, being rescued from their house on November 14.

Police said the two brothers, the children and other members of their families were being kept at the Sivasagar Sadar Police Station though they haven’t been arrested, till the filing of this report.

“We have kept them in the police station for their safety. We don’t have eyewitnesses or concrete evidence yet to implicate them for any kidnapping or human sacrifice practice,” police said.

‘Tantric advised human sacrifice’

As per local TV reports, one of the brothers dreamt of buried wealth in their backyard and consulted a ‘bez’ (tantric) in this regard, who purportedly asked them to arrange for human sacrifices.

A sister of the two persons is also being accused by locals as a co-conspirator, along with the wives of the two men.

Police have started investigation into the entire matter.
