A Bangladeshi teenager was handed over to the Border Guard Bangladesh as a goodwill gesture by the Border Security Force (BSF) on May 19.
The 17-year-old was apprehended by the BSF jawans from the international border at South Garo Hills district of Meghalaya on May 18.
The teenager was handed over to BGB during a meeting held today.
Inderjit Singh Rana, inspector general, BSF, Meghalaya Frontier, in his statement said that they always adopt a humanitarian approach in such cases where victims are minors or innocent.
The statement said that both the border guarding forces have developed an understanding on such subjects and these issues are amicably resolved to strengthen the existing relationship and to enhance mutual trust between both the neighbouring countries.
