Meghalaya Police have registered a case against a 31-year-old woman for unauthorized driving a police vehicle and negligent, a police official said on April 27.

A video, showing the woman shouting at police personnel at Laitumkhrah police station, has gone viral on the social media since Sunday.

According to the video, the woman who claimed to be “daughter of a DIG” (Deputy Inspector General of Police), was taken to the police station at 1:30 pm.

Meghalaya Police spokesperson Gabriel Iangrai said a case has been registered in Laitumkhrah Police Station under the relevant sections of IPC and MV Act against the woman.

“We have sought a detailed report on this matter and the same shall be intimated in due course,” Iangrai stated.
