A live cooking competition was organised at a shopping centre in Guwahati on May 28 wherein celebrity chef Sanjeev Kapoor was present as a judge.

The competition, organised at Big Bazaar, Guwahati, saw registration of more than 100 participants. For the finale, 12 participants were selected who presented their recipes in front of chef Sanjeev Kapoor and food entrepreneur Ravi Saxena.

The competition, designed to provide platform to amateur chefs and food lovers to showcase their culinary talent, attracted a huge audience.

Speaking on the occasion, Chef Sanjeev Kapoor said, “I am very happy and overwhelmed to see the enthusiasm and zeal of Guwahati. It gives me immense pleasure to see an evolving cooking culture across the society. Such competitions are an opportunity for those hidden talents who remains confined to their kitchen. We want to give a platform to all cooking and food enthusiasts, encourage and train them so that they can show their hidden talent to the world.”

Chef Barnali Bora won the competition while Hansa Begum was the first runner’s up. Harsha Sharma and Arpita Karmakar were the joint second runner’s up.
