Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma congratulated ace sprinter Hima Das and Amlan Borgohain, who won gold medals in the women’s and men’s 200-meter race at the National Federation Cup Athletics in Kerala.
Hima Das won the gold medal in the women’s 200-meter race by clocking 23.63 seconds. Amlan Borgohain on the other hand set a national record by winning a gold medal clocking 20.52 seconds in the men’s 200-meter race.
Congratulating the sprinters on April 6, the chief minister said that the people of Assam are proud of the performance of the two athletes.
Sarma also expressed hope that the two athletes will continue their success in the coming days and wished them a bright future.
