Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on August 29 met Governor Jagdish Mukhi at the Raj Bhavan in Guwahati and apprised him of the prevailing situation in the state.

Mukhi and Sonowal had wide ranging discussion on several issues especially on development of the state, accountable functioning of the public delivery organizations and implementation of the important schemes and projects of the central and state governments.

The chief minister briefed the governor about status of implementation of different welfare schemes of both the central and state governments and how steps have been taken to ensure that the fruits of development reach the grass root of the society.

The duo also discussed on the COVID-19 situation in Assam and the guidelines put in place to deal with the pandemic.

The governor also discussed with the chief minister on student community’s academic interests which are being greatly disturbed by the prevailing novel coronavirus situation and the government’s likely intervention in this regard.
